For Solicitors

We are recruiting probate solicitors throughout the country to our panel.Open law book A unique protocol has been developed that involves the details for each member (contact details, logins, requests, bequests, final messages etc) being divided between two participating firms. The contact details are provided to a lead firm (the acting solicitor) to whom the member is referred . The member has at all time the option of providing the ‘missing’ data to the acting solicitor or, for added security, withholding that information. Whilst, as a solicitor, you will be aware of your own duties of confidentiality to your clients and will have secure facilities, security can never be 100%. No matter how well run an office, staff, especially temporary staff, present a risk and , of course, break-ins are a risk even for the most secure offices. Given the nature of this service the accumulation of all the data for any member in one place is best avoided, hence our split data protocol. We retain the link to match up all the data but the match up itself can only take place directly between the two sets of solicitors on the death of the member. At no stage do we have the ability to access any element of the information.

Whilst the drawing up of a Will is not a requirement for members of the service, the referral of members will give an opportunity for panel members to advise on the benefits of a Will, or the updating of an existing Will. It is anticipated that the My Digital Executor project will increase the numbers of people making Wills. As this is not a Will making service we leave the charging for Will making entirely at the discretion of the panel members.
